Frequently asked questions
Can I donate by check?
Yes, you can make your check out to Washington Trails Association and mail to:
705 Second Ave, Suite 300, Seattle WA 98104
With your check, please also be sure to include the name of the person you are honoring with your gift.
Is my donation secure?
Yes. Your security and privacy is our highest priority. We use industry-standard SSL technology to keep your information safe and secure.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Washington Trails Association is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and your donation is tax-deductible within the guidelines of U.S. law. To claim a donation as a deduction on your U.S. taxes, please keep your email donation receipt as your official record. We'll send it to you upon successful completion of your donation.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes, we’ll send a receipt to the email address you provide when donating. The receipt will include your donation details, such as the date, amount, and any beneficiary information.
Does my donation renew or make me a WTA member?
Yes! If you are a current member, making a donation will renew your membership. If you are not a current member, you’ll become a member when you make a donation today. Thank you for your support!
Why doesn't my MyBackpack email and login information work on this site?
WTA runs our online donations through GoFundMe, a payment processor that is different from our main website, wta.org. Because MyBackpack is run on WTA's own website, that information is not stored in GoFundMe. If you have never created a GoFundMe login or donated to an organization through GoFundMe before, you will have the ability to create a GoFundMe login (which can use the same email and password as you use for your MyBackpack account) to keep track of all your future donations to WTA!
